Where the rules come from
Every value is read from the firm's own published pages (rules pages, FAQs, help centre, terms) and entered by hand. We don't copy firms' rule tables or wording; we restate the rules in our own words. Each firm page lists the pages used and the date each was checked. A value we couldn't confirm, or that the firm's own pages contradict, is listed under “Not verified” with a note. Firm pages more than 45 days past their last check are not published.
Payout totals, trader counts and similar figures published by firms are their own claims and are not audited; we don't present them as fact.
How the calculator works
- Loss at stop = lots × contract size × stop distance × conversion rate to the account currency, plus the firm's round-turn commission per lot where published.
- Daily loss floor = the start-of-day value the firm names (balance, equity, or the higher of the two) minus the firm's percentage, taken of either the initial account size or that start-of-day value, as the firm specifies.
- Max drawdown floor: static = initial size minus the percentage. Trailing = the highest equity (or, for end-of-day trailing, the highest end-of-day balance) minus the drawdown amount; where the firm says so, the floor stops rising at the starting balance.
- Breach: the trade breaches if equity at the stop would touch or pass either floor. Firms word this as “reach” or “exceed”; we treat touching as a breach, the cautious reading.
- Max lots: the largest size, in the instrument's lot step, whose loss at the stop leaves equity above both floors, then capped by any published firm lot limit and, if you give an entry price, by margin at the firm's leverage.
- Survive N stop-outs: the room to the nearer floor divided by N.
Contract sizes
Forex lots are 100,000 units of the base currency everywhere. Index, metal, energy and crypto CFDs are set by each firm's broker, and the same symbol can be 1, 10 or 0.1 units per lot at different firms. Where we have confirmed a firm's contract size from its symbol specifications, the calculator uses it; otherwise it uses a common default and says so.
What isn't modelled
Slippage (the stop is assumed filled at the stop price), spread, swap, and the path of prices during the day. For trailing drawdowns you enter the high-water mark yourself. Currency conversion uses European Central Bank reference rates dated 2026-10-29; your firm's rate will differ slightly.
Changes and corrections
When a firm changes a rule we update its page and the check date. If we get something wrong, we correct it and say so on the firm's page.
